Father

A father's love

reassuring
no matter how old
you still need him

A father's love
unconditional

Heavenly
Image of God

A father's love
He raised you
loved you
made you who you are

Father

Walk in my shoes

Do you know how I feel?
Do you care at all?

Go ahead and ignore me,
go on walking tall.

Have you walked in my shoes?
Have you been where I'm at?

You don't have a clue
you ignore me
I'm not there

You're not there!

You don't understand, you don't want to know
How it feels to be me
feels to be lonely
feels to be misunderstood...

No, don't tell me what I'm supposed to do, say, think!
You don't know anything at all.

You think you're smart, you think you got it...
Like I did

Like I still do.

But who ever really does?
Who is there? Who was there?
Who walked in my shoes?

The thief

"To whom it may concern"
Is how I started my note.

My pizza had been stolen right out of my fridge.
The empty carton in hand as evidence,
I saw a used plate with crumbs of crust on it,
a knife and fork lying on it, mocking me.

How dare someone steal my delicious food!
And angrily I wrote a letter to everyone else living in the house,
reminding them to stay fair and square,
return my pizza to me, the beloved miracle of molten cheese and crispy crust,
that was so thoughtlessly stolen from me.

A week or so later, I opened my door
and guess what I found, almost stepped on in front of it!
A pizza! Wrapped in foil, starting to thaw,
my believe in humanity was yet again restored.

Supposed to be

Despite everything that people want me to,
say I’m supposed to
be,
say I’m supposed to
do,
I won’t give up,
I won’t.

I’ll keep hoping
I’ll keep fighting
until my last breath.
No matter the cost
no matter the price.
Because some things are more than worth fighting for,
more than worth holding on to and living for.

I don’t know what the future brings
but I will not give up on it because the past or the present suck.
I won’t.
I can’t.
I don’t want to.

Different

I see things differently
I always have

It made me feel like an outsider

And nobody really understood

My views of life, of love, of people
Refused to become like those of others

It made me wonder if I was normal
If I would ever be accepted
If I could ever be like the others

But then I realized
I was made to be different
I was made to shine

And the one who made me
Had always known
How I felt, how I saw things, how I was different

He made me this way
Because he is different, too.

His life was not normal, not like the others
He was, and is, different
Because he is the son of God.

And I am called to become more like him.
I'd say I'm off to a good start

I may be different,
But I'm not alone
Because he is my hero.

Move on

Most of the time, stories don’t just end.
The new chapter of another story doesn’t start immediately,
It just sort of switches, changes into the next one.
Have you ever noticed that it’s never really an end?
It’s more of a transition into the next scene
It’s a way of saying:
Life goes on
When actually there will someday be
A stopping point
An end to it all
A death
A drifting apart
A leave

You never know which it might be
If any of it all
But times change
People leave
And nothing is what it was
It never will be what it was again
Maybe you like that thought maybe you don’t
Fact is that time is a river flowing on
Can’t live in the past,
Can’t live in the future
Accept what is and what’s not
And move on

Falling

High above the ground
Holding on to dear life
Scared to death of letting go
Because if you do
You fall
You land
You die

No bridge spanning the gap
Standing on the edge of the cliff looking down
Petrified with the fear of the jump
Because if you do
You fall
You land
You die

Down there
Over on the other side
If only you were brave enough
Possibilities out of reach

Let go
Make the jump
Take the fall

A moment of trust

You fall
You fly

A moment of trust

You land
You live

Let go
Make the jump
Take the fall

A moment of trust

You fall
You fly
You land
You live.
